Bangalore Astronomy Club had the privilege of conducting yet another successful stargazing event, this time at the invitation of Buildmore Developers, celebrating the completion of their prestigious villa project — Aagam 54 — in Jodhpur, India.
The evening brought together more than 200 residents and invited guests for an immersive journey into the night sky. Under the open skies of Jodhpur, two high-end telescopes were set up — one by Bangalore Astronomy Club and another from Delhi Astronomy Club — ensuring a seamless and enriching observational experience for everyone present.
For many attendees, this was their very first opportunity to observe celestial objects through professional-grade telescopes. The sense of wonder was unmistakable. From children seeing the Moon’s craters for the first time to adults exploring distant planets and deep-sky objects, the excitement remained high throughout the evening.
The session commenced immediately after sunset and continued smoothly until 11:00 PM. The event was structured to provide both learning and engagement — beginning with guided sky orientation, followed by telescope familiarization and curated observations. Guests were introduced to visible planets, prominent constellations, and selected deep-sky objects, accompanied by clear scientific explanations in an accessible format.
What made the evening even more memorable was the exceptionally warm reception extended by owner and founder of Buildmore Developers and his extended family. The welcome was conducted in authentic Rajasthani tradition — adorned with vibrant turbans, traditional garlands, ceremonial gifts, and the auspicious offering of a coconut. It was truly one of the most heartfelt and culturally rich welcomes we have experienced at any of our events.
This collaboration with Buildmore Developers marks another milestone in our outreach efforts beyond boundaries. We look forward to organizing many more astronomy experiences in Jodhpur and continuing to inspire curiosity about the universe across Rajasthan.
We managed to explore only half of Mehrangarh Fort this time — looks like the other half is waiting, and someday the fort itself will call us back to finish the story! 😄
